About Us

Our Name

Covenant: We delight in God's covenant mercies to us. Though we are born in sin, God graciously calls us out of darkness into light through the gospel of His Son. He has not left us alone, but has given us His Spirit and knit us together as the people of God to glorify Him with our lives and worship.

We call all men everywhere to “Repent and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins, and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. For the promise is for you and for your children and for all who are far off, everyone whom the Lord our God calls to himself.” (Acts 2:38-39)

Orthodox: The word orthodox simply means "straight" or "true." As Orthodox Presbyterians, we believe what the Bible teaches, and strive to remain faithful to Christ's Word.

Presbyterian: We confess that Jesus Christ is the only Head and King of His church, and exercises all authority in His church today through the ministry of ordained men called "elders" or "presbyters."

Church: We are a community of believers and their children, called by the grace of God out of every nation and race of humanity and set apart by baptism to live together in holiness and love.

In October 2019, we became a mission work of the Presbytery of the Southeast (PSE) of the Orthodox Presbyterian Church (OPC)

Our Leadership

As a mission work of the OPC, a provisional session is provided by the PSE. We are able to worship, accept members, partake of the sacraments, fellowship and participate in community outreach as a particular church would. Currently, our provisional session includes Rev. Lacy Andrews, Regional Home Missionary of the Presbytery of the Southeast, Michael Cloy, ruling elder who is a member at Landis OPC in Marion, NC, Rev. Mike Myers, pastor of Heritage OPC in Royston, GA, and Vernon Shoaf, ruling elder at Covenant Community Church OPC in Taylors, SC.  In the spring of 2022 the Presbytery of the Southeast called Andrew Wann to be the pastor of the congregation.

Our Pastor

Andy met his wife Abby while studying for the ministry at Reformation Bible College in Sanford, FL. After graduating, Andy took a summer internship at Grand Island Bible Presbyterian Church (BPC) in Grand Island, NY in 2014 before studying at Greenville Presbyterian Theological Seminary in Greenville, SC from 2014-to 2018. In 2019 he was called to be the Assistant Pastor at Grand Island BPC, where he served until moving to Bluffton in 2022. He now serves as the Organizing Pastor of Covenant Orthodox Presbyterian Church (OPC). The Lord has blessed Andy and Abby with five sons (Titus, Peter, Calvin, Benjamin, and Caleb) and one daughter (Annalise). Andy loves the Lord, the church, and the Scripture, and he desires to serve God faithfully here at Covenant.

Our Purpose

We meet together seeking an ordinary means of grace (Word, sacrament, and prayer) fellowship that worships God according to His Word. Our aim is to glorify God and to enjoy Him forever, to edify Christians, to reach the lost with the Good News of salvation in Jesus Christ, and to live together in a covenant community. To those ends, we read, teach, pray, sing, and preach the whole counsel of God found within the pages of Holy Scripture.
